Information on the Safe Use and Measurement of Cock Rings
There are two basic reasons that men wear a cock ring or cock strap. The first is as a piece of jewellery with or without a secondary sexual application. The second and most common one is to enhance both size and harness of the erection and to prolong the time it takes to achieve orgasm.
Cock rings come in either fixed or adjustable forms which also include cock straps in their various forms. Cock rings and cock straps can be worn around the cock and balls or just around the shaft of the penis.
They work by constricting the blood flow to and from the testes (balls) and/or the penis, keeping the blood for longer than normal in the penis. The resulting swelling increases both the girth and hardness of the erection and can add marginally to the length of the penis. At the same time it reduces the sensitivity which usually delays the time it takes to achieve orgasm. When Orgasm and ejaculation eventually happens, the sensation usually is more intense and often of longer duration.
Cock rings and cock straps can be used with or without a partner. Their function is purely to enhance the sensations and pleasure of play and/or intercourse. In general they are quite safe to use, providing some basic guidelines are observed and followed.
Important Information you need to know:
Because you are restricting the blood flow to a part of your body, getting the right size ring is absolutely essential. The ideal is to increase the erection without causing discomfort. Fortunately nature has provided us with a great survival instinct and because of its importance in the procreation of the species, that part of your body is very sensitive to pain. At the first sign of pain, numbness or coldness or excessive swelling, you must remove the cock ring immediately.
Additionally it is not a good idea to leave the cock ring on for too long, especially when going to sleep when spontaneous, involuntary erections happen. A prolonged erection for several hours can in some circumstances cause the blood to coagulate making it difficult or near impossible to remove the ring. This can also cause permanent tissue damage.
If you cannot remove the ring due to the swelling try some lubricant or an ice pack. If this fails do not hesitate to go to the hospital emergency department. Don't worry about any embarrassment, they have seen it all before and will be able to help you.
How to get the correct Size and Type?
For the beginner who is just experimenting it is advisable to start with a cock strap rather than a metal or rubber cock ring. Cock Straps are fully adjustable by means of press studs, buckles or Velcro tape. They give a huge size range of sizes which accommodates even the best endowed male. They work in exactly the same way as solid rings do and the same cautions apply.
Take measurements when fully erect
According to statistics, the vast majority of men use either the 45mm (1.75“) or 50mm (2“) cock and ball rings
How to fit a cock ring
Once you have established your correct size by following the steps outlined above, the cock ring is fitted to the flaccid (non erect) penis. This is done by fitting the testes (balls) one at a time through the ring. Then push the penis head first through the remaining space. You can use a lubricant to assist in this task and is gentler on the skin.
Additional word of caution
If you intend to wear your cock ring in public, be aware that it is metal and will set off the metal detectors in public buildings and airports. The resulting questions would be very difficult to answer, and the required removal of the offending ring would be even more embarrassing.
If it hurts … STOP.
But most of all, have fun experimenting and enjoying this new and exciting experience.
